2016, Astral Projection / Astral Traveling
Astral travel, also called astral projection, has been discussed in many religions, spiritual traditions, mystical sciences, and ancient civilizations throughout the world. According to the discussion presented by Bapuji Dashrathbhai Patel, astral travel is not merely imagination or fantasy, but a spiritual process connected with the soul, subtle body, consciousness, higher lokas, divine dimensions, and the evolution of the soul itself.
The discussion begins with a question regarding whether astral travelling is possible in today’s Kalyug (Iron Age). The question also refers to ancient scriptures describing Brahma’s seven mind-born sons (Manas Putra), who could travel from one galaxy to another. Bapuji explains that the four yugas — Satyug, Treta, Dwapar, and Kalyug — are limited only to Earth (Bhulok). Beyond Earth exist higher lokas such as Bhuvarlok, Swarglok, Maharlok, Janlok, and Taplok, where Kalyug does not exist.
Bapuji explains that the celestial power changes as one descends toward Earth. He refers to the Saptrishi Mandal (Seven Sages constellation) visible in the sky and explains that these seven sages were created by Brahma through sankalp (thought power). Through these seven sons, the universe and the seven lokas were created. Later, Bhulok (Earth realm) was formed. After completing their work, the Saptrishis became stars in the galaxy.
He further explains the story of Prahlad’s son Dhruv, who was transformed into the Dhruv Star by Lord Vishnu. Bapuji states that stars are not isolated objects but possess their own systems and satellites. According to him, the Saptrishis could travel from one galaxy to another because evolved souls can transcend ordinary limitations.
Bapuji explains that when a soul becomes Paramatma, it becomes Shiva. Shiva then travels to meet Maha Shiva, who is described as the creator of the galaxy, while Shiva is the creator of the Brahmand (universe). Thus, galaxy-level travel becomes possible only after attaining extremely elevated spiritual stages.
Who Can Travel Through Space and Higher Dimensions
According to Bapuji, when a soul leaves the physical body after death and no longer desires rebirth on Earth, that soul may aspire to travel toward Brahmapuri, Vishnupuri (Vaikunth), Shivpuri, or Paramdham (Supreme Abode). Such souls are extremely rare. Among billions of souls, only a few possess such elevated goals and purity.
When asked about scientific discoveries regarding galaxies and parallel universes, Bapuji says that science is gradually progressing under divine inspiration. He says spiritual scientists are inspired by higher powers to develop material science. He refers to Devi Bhagwat Puran, where Maha Devi showed Lord Brahma countless universes containing countless Brahmas, Vishnus, and Shankars, demonstrating the existence of infinite universes.
Astral Travel in Mahabharata
Bapuji explains an example from the Mahabharata involving Guru Dronacharya. Lord Krishna understood that Drona could not be defeated by ordinary means. Therefore, Yudhishthira was instructed to tell Drona that “Ashwatthama has died,” while softly adding that it might refer to an elephant.
Upon hearing this, Dronacharya became depressed, dropped his weapons, entered deep meditation and soul-consciousness, and his soul travelled into heaven searching for his son Ashwatthama. During this astral state, Dhrishtadyumna killed him. According to Bapuji, this was a genuine example of astral travel.
He further states that even today, Himalayan sages enter deep meditation, leave their physical bodies, travel through subtle worlds, and later return to their physical bodies.
Par Kaya Pravesh (Entering Another Body)
Bapuji discusses the ancient yogic science called “Par Kaya Pravesh.” He gives the example of Adi Shankaracharya, who, according to tradition, temporarily entered the body of a dead king in order to gain worldly experience necessary to answer philosophical questions posed by a learned woman. After returning, Shankaracharya successfully answered her questions and won the debate.
Bapuji says spirits and ghosts also enter human bodies, but their purpose and level differ from spiritually elevated beings.
What Travels During Astral Projection
The questioner asks whether thoughts travel, or whether the subtle body, causal body, or soul travels during astral projection.
Bapuji explains that during deep meditation and Samadhi, all seven chakras gradually awaken. When the Sahasrara Chakra (Crown Chakra) opens, each cell within it corresponds symbolically to countless Brahmands (universes). At this stage, sages can travel across infinite universes through the “Dasam Dwar” (Tenth Door).
He says that such sages possess knowledge beyond ordinary scriptures — knowledge of Shiva, Maha Shiva, Pralaya, and Param Gyan (Supreme Knowledge). Through worship of the incorporeal Shiva in Paramdham, their Agnya Chakra awakens, their soul receives power from the Almighty Authority, and their consciousness transforms into supreme divine light (Param Prakash).
At this stage:
The soul becomes incorporeal.
The body dissolves in consciousness.
The soul attains Kevalya state.
The soul directly experiences Paramdham.
Difference Between Shivpuri and Paramdham
Bapuji explains an important distinction:
Shivpuri is the subtle realm where Shiv-Shakti exists in subtle (Akari) form.
Paramdham is beyond Shivpuri and contains the incorporeal Nirakar Shiva.
According to Bapuji:
Shankar exists physically in the Himalayas.
Shiv-Shakti exists subtly in Shivpuri.
Nirakar Shiva exists in Paramdham.
Thus, there are multiple levels of divine existence.
Becoming Shiva and Reaching Maha Shiva
When the soul reaches Paramdham, it transforms from Jeev (individual soul) into Shiva consciousness. By attaining the stage of Shiva, the soul becomes capable of knowing Maha Shiva.
Bapuji says that highly evolved souls collectively create divine light vehicles resembling UFO-like structures made from supreme refined elements. In these subtle vehicles, they travel from universe to universe, from great universe to greater universes, ultimately seeking Maha Shiva at the center of the galaxy.
These souls:
Transform from Jeev to Shiva.
Travel in Nirakari form.
Receive power from Maha Shiva.
Continue evolving spiritually.
He says this process requires many births of tapasya and devotion.
Astral Travel After Death
Bapuji explains that ordinary individuals who deeply desire liberation and connect with God at the time of death may also begin travelling upward after death.
He refers to teachings from the Bhagavad Gita:
At the time of death, one’s final thoughts determine the direction of the soul.
Souls free from lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego rise higher.
Souls attached to worldly relationships remain earthbound.
After death:
The gross body dissolves.
The soul continues with a three-element subtle body.
Karmic attachments hinder upward movement.
Maharishi souls in higher lokas guide travelling souls.
Bapuji quotes the spiritual principle:
“Nasto Moha Smriti Labdha” — when attachment and fascination disappear, soul-consciousness awakens.
Why Spirits Remain on Earth
According to Bapuji, many souls remain near homes, temples, and family members because of emotional attachment. Such souls cannot travel far because their subtle bodies are heavy with desires, anger, lust, greed, and worldly bondage.
He explains:
Powerful positive souls rise higher.
Negative souls become stronger after death because two heavy elements (earth and water) dissolve.
The remaining three-element subtle body gains increased energetic capacity.
Therefore, both divine tendencies and negative tendencies intensify after death.
Bapuji’s Own Experiences
Bapuji states openly that his meditation and Samadhi state differ from ordinary saints and sages. He says he experiences himself completely as supreme divine light (Param Prakash) and remains connected with the Almighty Authority in the highest supreme abode.
According to him, the Almighty shows him:
Galaxies
Universes
Great universes
Multiverses
Infinite layers beyond imagination
He says the Almighty instructed him to announce openly that the period of transformation or “Kayamat” (doomsday/transitional era) is occurring.
Bapuji says he sees divine beings travelling in celestial planes between universes and describes:
Maha Shiv
Param Maha Shiv
Controllers of galaxies
Controllers of multiple universes
Eternal supreme souls composed of supreme light
He repeatedly emphasizes that the world is too materialistic and negative to easily understand these experiences.
Jogini and Bapuji’s Grandmother
Bapuji shares detailed childhood experiences involving his grandmother, whom he describes as influenced or blessed by Mother Jogini — a divine yogic entity from higher realms.
He narrates various incidents:
His grandmother predicting supernatural events.
Seeing glowing leaves during Navratri.
Ghost interactions near their home.
Protection from negative entities.
Divine intervention during dangerous situations.
His mother appearing in fields without physically being there.
Spirits taking away a baby and returning it after warning from Jogini.
Most remarkably, Bapuji describes how his grandmother’s soul would leave her body for three days while travelling with Mother Jogini in a divine chariot. Her body would remain motionless like a dead body, yet she later returned and described her journeys through the Brahmand.
Bapuji compares this state partially to coma, where most of the soul’s energy departs but some subtle energy remains connected to the body.
Mediums and Spirit Communication
The discussion also compares astral travel with mediums.
Bapuji explains:
Mediums allow subtle entities to enter their bodies.
Some entities perform good work; others harmful work.
Temple-associated souls remain within limited geographic ranges.
Most lower subtle beings cannot travel beyond approximately 200 kilometers around Earth.
He also explains possession phenomena:
Multiple spirits may enter one body.
Negative souls strengthen after death.
Human consciousness may become disturbed by spirit influence.
He states that advanced spiritual science will eventually develop technologies capable of detecting spirits and subtle entities.
Science and Spiritual Science
Bapuji believes that future science will merge with spiritual science. He predicts:
Cameras capable of photographing spirits.
Satellites capable of detecting subtle beings.
Understanding of unmanifested energies within manifested matter.
He says many great scientists, including Albert Einstein, studied Indian scriptures and believed in inspiration from higher intelligence.
According to Bapuji:
Modern science currently lacks understanding of the soul.
Hindu spiritual science focuses on the welfare and liberation of the soul.
Future scientific evolution will validate many ancient spiritual truths.
Final Message
Bapuji concludes by explaining that astral travelling is possible under certain spiritual conditions. However, genuine astral travel is not entertainment or fantasy. It depends upon:
Purity of consciousness
Freedom from attachment
Spiritual power
Divine grace
Soul-consciousness
Connection with the Almighty Authority
He says higher beings, incarnations, Maha Avatars, saints, yogis, and spiritually evolved souls can travel across subtle worlds, universes, and galaxies.
He also states that the Almighty wants humanity to understand that a great transformational period is occurring across creation and that spiritual awakening is essential.
Additional Clarifications Based on Dashrathbhai Patel’s Broader “Behad Ka Gyan”
The following points help clarify certain sections that may appear symbolic, mystical, or difficult to understand:
In Bapuji’s broader teachings, “Shiva” does not merely refer to the deity form worshipped traditionally, but to a highly elevated soul-conscious divine state. “Maha Shiva” refers to even higher cosmic governing consciousness associated with galaxies and higher cosmic structures.
“Param Prakash” (Supreme Divine Light) in his teachings refers to the highest subtle energetic state beyond physical matter and ordinary astral substance.
“Kayamat” or “Doomsday” in Bapuji’s teachings usually does not only mean destruction, but a cosmic transformational period involving:
purification,
karmic settlement,
spiritual awakening,
and major planetary transition.
The “100 celestial layer worlds” mentioned by Bapuji appear symbolically connected to multiple hierarchical dimensions or cosmic planes beyond ordinary lokas.
“Supreme light planes” and UFO-like subtle vehicles are described by Bapuji as non-physical consciousness-based travel systems made from refined subtle elements rather than material technology.
The statement that souls become “Shiva” should not be interpreted as becoming the Supreme God Himself, but rather attaining Shiva-like consciousness or divine realization.
In many of Bapuji’s teachings, “Jogini,” “Yogini,” and higher divine feminine entities are described as subtle cosmic beings assisting spiritual evolution and protection.
The descriptions of spirits entering bodies correspond to traditional concepts found in Tantra, mediumship, subtle-body science, and paranormal traditions across many cultures.
The references to galaxies, multiverses, and infinite universes align with Bapuji’s recurring teachings that creation is limitless and extends infinitely beyond the visible universe.
Bapuji frequently distinguishes:
Gross physical worlds,
Subtle astral worlds,
Causal worlds,
Supreme light realms,
and Paramdham as progressively higher dimensions of existence.
