Who Stops Free Will? – Understanding Karma, Soul Power, and Spiritual Reality

Introduction

The discourse begins with a powerful question: “Who is stopping us from using our free will?”  At first glance, human beings feel completely free—we can think anything, desire anything, and imagine limitless possibilities. However, despite this apparent freedom, most desires remain unfulfilled. This contradiction becomes the foundation of the teaching.

The Illusion of Unlimited Free Will

Bapuji explains that the soul is indeed free to desire anything. A person may wish: to become wealthy , to own luxury items like cars or bungalows , to gain power or status ,even to rule the world . These desires arise naturally from the mind. However, merely having desires does not guarantee their fulfillment.  Such uncontrolled imagination is compared to “Sheikh Chilli thoughts”—fantasy-driven thinking disconnected from reality.

Karma Bandhan: The Real Limiting Force

The central answer to the question emerges clearly: It is not God who stops free will—it is Karma Bandhan (karmic bondage). Bapuji explains that:

  • Every soul carries recordings of past karmas

  • These karmas accumulate over many lifetimes

  • These karmic impressions restrict present outcomes

Because of this karmic burden, even strong desires fail to manifest.  Thus, free will exists—but it operates within the boundaries of accumulated karma.

Why Desires Alone Do Not Work

The teaching strongly rejects the simplistic idea: “If you keep thinking about something, you will manifest it.”

Instead, it emphasizes: Thoughts without soul power are ineffective ,Mere repetition (e.g., “I want money”) does not create reality  and Desire must be supported by inner strength and karma . A poor person may constantly desire a car, but without karmic support and spiritual power, the result does not manifest.

Weak Soul and Tamopradhan State

A key concept introduced is the condition of the soul: Tamopradhan (spiritually degraded state)

  • Heavy karmic burden

  • Low spiritual energy

  • Lack of clarity and power

Bapuji  explains that due to many lifetimes of karmic accumulation, the soul becomes weak and Tamopradhan, which further limits its ability to fulfill desires.

Misunderstanding of God’s Role

People often blame God when their desires are not fulfilled: “God doesn’t want it”  and “It will happen when the time is right” . However, the teaching clarifies:

👉 God does not interfere in human free will.
👉 Neither Brahma, Vishnu, nor Shankar interfere directly.

Instead, outcomes are governed by karma and soul condition, not divine favoritism.

Influence of Worship and Consciousness

The discourse explains that what we worship influences our inner state:

  • Shankar (Tamopradhan) → leads to destructive tendencies

  • Vishnu (Rajopradhan) → leads to activity and desire

  • Brahma (Satopradhan) → higher purity (rarely worshipped)

The principle is:  “You become what you remember.” Thus, spiritual focus determines the quality of consciousness and life outcomes.

The Need for True Spiritual Knowledge

The core problem identified is ignorance of soul  which does not know its true nature . It does not know the true Almighty Authority .Therefore, it cannot access real power. Without correct knowledge, people remain trapped in weak thinking ,wrong worship  and karmic cycles

Path to Liberation and Empowerment

The discourse provides a clear solution:

1. Become Atma Swaroop (Soul Conscious): Understand your true soul identity beyond the body.

2. Remember the Almighty Authority:Through remembrance and connection, karmic burdens can be reduced.

3. Gain Spiritual Knowledge: Open the “lock of the intellect” and question reality.

4. Transform Yourself: Real change comes from inner transformation, not external desire.

5. Accumulate Soul Power: Only a powerful soul can manifest its intentions.

Understanding the Changing World

The discourse also points to a broader observation:

  • The world is rapidly changing

  • Many religions, sects, and beliefs are emerging

  • Confusion is increasing

This indicates the need for deeper awareness and self-realization rather than blind belief.

Diminished Cosmic Power

Bapuji shares that today’s time the creators of multiverse, universe, Galaxy or solar system has left with no Soul power in their Paramdham or Supreme Abode. Param-Param Mahashiv ( Great Universe) to param-Mahashiv (Universe) or Mahashiv (Galaxy) or Shiv (Solar System) etc no one has any soul per left . This happens due to innumerable times of creation and dissolution cycle done by them as per their memory. Devta/ Deities in Heaven or higher realms have lost all their soul power and live like ordinary Human soul.

What does Karmic Bondage (Karmabandhan) do?

According to Indian philosophy—especially the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads:

  • Karmic bondage determines where and under what circumstances a soul will be born

  • It is entirely the result of one’s own actions (good and bad deeds)

  • It creates a “connection” (yog), such as taking birth in a particular family, as you mentioned

Up to this point, your understanding is quite close to what the scriptures describe.

Because of these karmic ties, someone may be destined to take birth in their grandson’s home. For example, a grandfather may wish to be reborn in his  son’s family. This possibility exists because of karmic connections; such a birth is formed through karma.

Interference of ghosts, spirits, jinn, and other religions

However, Bapuji confirms that influences from other realms—like spirits or entities associated with other belief systems , religions—can enter that household. If such external influences come, they may disrupt or replace the original karmic path, driving away the intended  or original soul. In such cases, another soul from a different religion like Christianity or islam might take birth there instead.

For example, you can observe that in traditions like the Hare Krishna movement, many followers come from Christian backgrounds. Similarly, in Christian communities, you may find people drawn toward Krishna. One possible explanation is that these souls originally belonged to Hindu traditions, later moved into other religions due to circumstances, and are now returning.

In this way, souls move across religions and traditions. There is also the idea of free will and spiritual duty operating in subtle realms. In those subtle worlds, it is believed that entities like spirits or jinns may exert influence, affecting both the subtle plane and human beings.

Conclusion

The answer to the original question becomes clear: Free will is not stopped by God ad Free will is limited by karma, soul’s weakness, and ignorance True freedom is achieved when:

  • karmic bondage is reduced

  • soul power is increased

  • correct knowledge is attained

Only then can the soul move from illusion to mastery, from desire to realization, and from limitation to true freedom.
